ADULT SAND VOLLEYBALL

• Ages: 14+
• Season: 8 Week Season – 16-game guarantee. Week 9 will be Playoffs for all teams that advance. Playoff seeding will be based on court availability.
• Game Days/Times: Games are played Monday – Thursday. Check-in time will be 6:45 pm; Game Times: 7:10 pm, 7:45 pm, 8:30 pm, 9:15pm and 10pm.
• Divisions Offered:
  • A & AA/Open (competitive)
  • B/BB (recreational)
• A and AA/Open leagues have a minimum age requirement of 16 years. There is no minimum age for B/BB leagues, however, the Virginia Beach Field House reserves the right to remove minors from the league.
• Schedules will be posted online – Please do not print the schedule as it is subject to change.

*Note:  The registration window remains open until the scheduled closing date, or until all slots are filled, whichever happens first. Teams registering after the slots are filled or after the deadline will be placed on a waitlist. The Virginia Beach Field House does not issue cash refunds. We do not consider refunds unless the Virginia Beach Field House must cancel an event or program that is not rescheduled.

• All A team’s will play by beach rules.
• As a court sport, Beach Volleyball involves a number of strict rules, including:
• Players are allowed to touch the ball three times maximum before they return it across the court – blocks included.
• There are a number of moves and hits that are classed as illegal in Beach Volleyball, including “hand touches”, “tips” and “dinks”.
• Players are permitted to cross below the net in Beach Volleyball – but this will be classed as a foul if it tampers or interferes with the opposing team’s play.
• There is no set position for players, meaning they can move to any part of the court they wish at any time – provided it is on their side.
• Player Requirements/Safety for 4’s
• 4 players on the court – for coed, 1 male and 1 female must be on the court minimum at all times
• The opposing team captain may waive the minimum player requirement AND have the results of the match COUNT towards the standings. Agreeing that the results of the match COUNT must be made clear at the net prior to the start of play by the team captains. Agreeing to play does not infer that the match counts unless this is explicitly decided by the opposing team captain.
• Each player must sign a waiver before his/her first game. Note: If you add a player to your team throughout the year, that player must sign a waiver before they play, even if it is only for one game.
• Game Day Check In: All rostered players and guests must check in with the field marshal before the start of the game and present a valid ID.

• All participants must pay their ADMINISTRATIVE FEES, as well as have an updated signed Waiver before they can play in any Virginia Beach Field House program.
• Field use is reserved for scheduled, registered, and paid participants only.
• Any inappropriate language directed toward anyone in the facility is not tolerated and will result in a suspension from the facility.
• Intimidation or threatening behavior can result in a suspension from the facility.
• No metal studs or spikes will be allowed on any of our courts/turf fields. VBFH staff will make all determinations on permissible footwear.
• No jewelry can be worn during league play unless covered with a padded material.
• No clothing with pockets is permitted.
• No food or drink (unless bottled/covered) is allowed inside any of the players’ boxes or on the field at any time.
• Any ejection (albeit from a staff member or a referee) from the facility will result in a MINIMUM one (1) week suspension from the facility and an automatic one (1) game suspension. Multiple ejection consequences will be administered, as needed, by VBFH staff.
• Involvement in a fight will result in a MINIMUM one (1) year suspension from the facility. Involvement in a second (2) fight will result in a lifetime ban from the facility.
• At no time shall a spectator enter the field or speak with officials, coaches, or players. Any spectator that enters the field to confront an official or another player will result in a suspension from the facility.
• REFUND POLICY: The Virginia Beach Field House does not issue cash refunds. We do not consider refunds unless the Virginia Beach Field House must cancel an event or program that is not rescheduled.
